ANNOUNCEMENT! - NIFA Flying Sooners seeking participants for 2011 Region VI SAFECON!
If you are interested in joining the NIFA team in the future - plan on coming and attending the team practices the upcoming Mon & Wed nights at 8:30 PM – you will get an insight on what is involved and how you might join the team and compete for a future travel team position for the spring team and next year’s fall team.
WE NEED MORE TEAM MEMBERS!!! – It takes some time and dedication – but if you are inclined and up for the challenge, won’t you think about out joining the team! The key to OU’s future excellence and championships in NIFA competition is our travel team development program which develops our future team members. All aviators who come out to practice are on the OU Flying Sooners NIFA Flight Team, from which each semester a Travel Squad is selected to represent OU at NIFA competitions.
If you are interested, contact coaches Aaron Pittman or Michael Johnson for more information.
Teams from the University of Oklahoma Aviation will attend and demonstrate our excellence in the competitions.
Team membership is open to all University of Oklahoma students who meet the eligibility requirements, including flight instructors, pilots not majoring in aviation, and even student pilots*. Anyone interested in competing is welcome to practice with the team.
* Student pilots are not eligible for the official travel squad.

Fall Tryouts

If the team qualifies for the National SAFECON (usually held April or May of each year), tryouts will be held again in the spring semester. |
The University of Oklahoma has a proud tradition of excellence! And so, too, does our OU Aviation program! We have exceptional and talented students with tremendous aviation skills. The NIFA competitions allow us the opportunity to demonstrate our excellence!
