Advanced Standing Examination

Students who complete a pilot certificate or additional rating outside of OU may be eligible to earn college credit. Students who feel they are eligible should contact their advisor and the Chief Flight Instructor in the Aviation Department.

NOTE:

  • There is a limit to the number of credit hours that can be obtained through advanced standing
  • Students who have earned a grade, besides W, in a course are not eligible for advanced standing
  • Advanced standing credit in certain aviation courses may affect a student’s PART 141 status with the FAA; please consult the Chief Flight Instructor prior to taking the exam

  • Obtain a graduation check before enrolling in their last semester
